About 100 to 150 people gathered in San Francisco's Dolores Park to remember Steve Jobs.

Organized in part by Josh Constine of Inside Facebook, and popularized on the Dolores Park community page on Facebook, the event was quiet and low-key. Photographer Alex Greenberg focused the small crowd and started the remembrance by striking a Tibetan bowl four times at about 9:15 p.m.

Most of the people gathered then held up their illuminated iPhones. Photographers snapped pictures. People talked. By 10:00 p.m. the group had mostly dispersed.

Bobby Burgess, a programmer from the Hayes Valley neighborhood in San Francisco, said, "I felt like I had to come. I'm not a fanboy. I'm not even sure why."
