Louisville Slugger is the largest provider of baseball bats to Major League Baseball, with more than 50 percent of big-leaguers using the company's lumber. All told, counting bats for the major leagues, the minor leagues and other levels of baseball, it makes 1.83 million bats a year.
Here, a bunch of freshly made bats that have just been dipped in lacquer to make them shiny, hang off a rack to dry.
