Touchdown

CNET News.com reporter Daniel Terdiman, well into Road Trip 2008, found himself at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida Saturday for the landing of the Space Shuttle Discovery.

The shuttle touched down at precisely 11:15 a.m. and 19 seconds EDT, marking the completion of a two-week mission to the International Space Station that covered 5.7 million miles.

The mission, among other things, was about bringing Gregory Chamitoff to the Space Station and bringing home Garrett Reisman. The shuttle also brought the pressurized module and robotic arm of the Japanese Experiment Module to the Space Station.
