Photos: UFO mania in Roswell

In this famous photo by J. Bond Johnson, Brig. Gen. Roger Ramey is seen making the case that the debris found near Roswell was really just that of a fallen weather balloon. The Washington Post on July 9, 1947, ran an article using the photo, with the caption, "In Fort Worth, Tex., Gen. R. M. Ramey (left) and Col. T. J. Dubose examine high altitude weather device, mistaken for a flying disc."
