CNET News.com reporter Daniel Terdiman passed through the Tularosa Basin in the New Mexico desert during his Road Trip 2007 around the Southwest. Driving into White Sands National Monument, 275 square miles of the world's largest gypsum dune field, there's just a hint of the incredible, all-encompassing nature of the sand dunes.
