The heart of the Ergo Bike 8i. When you pedal, a strain sensor calculates how much pressure you are putting on the pedals. Integrated computers then cross-check that against the training course you put in and the gear you're in. It then delivers counterforce to simulate how hard you would have to pedal in real life.
Thus, it is a digital system. Most other exercise bikes are analog machines: crank down a pad and the wheel is harder to turn.
