Images: Mysterious aurora, mighty storms on Saturn

At the south pole of Saturn lies a gigantic vortex that NASA describes as "deep convective structures seen through the atmospheric haze." The ring is similar to a hurricane on Earth but is much larger. Convection sends the warm air from the planet's interior into its atmosphere.
