Photos: Mars lander discovers white material

This is a color-coded elevation map of Dodo-Goldilocks trench that was dug by the robotic arm aboard the Phoenix. Blue represents the lowest areas--the hole is almost 3 inches deep--with the highest areas (pink) about 7.8 inches above, as the digging was on an incline.
