The Gen H-4 uses a coaxial rotor design--the two overhead rotors, each with about a 12-foot diameter, turn in opposite directions to provide both lift and to keep the pilot from being spun around in circles (typically the job of a tail rotor). It has four independent 10-horsepower engines, and carries 2 to 5 gallons of fuel. An FAQ provided by Yanagisawa's Gen Corp. sounds a very optimistic note when it says that anyone can fly the helicopter "with minimum training, necessary for safety."
