Photos: When good airplanes go bad

At the Roswell International Air Center, American has rows and rows of MD-80s parked indefinitely. It is quite a sight, with many of the planes in perfect visible shape while others are missing important features like engines or tails. The planes in Roswell are unrelated to the airline's recent maintenance-related cancellations.
