Photos: That's one small step for SpaceShipTwo

Burt Rutan speaks to the audience at the SpaceShipTwo unveiling. He's made few technical details of the new craft available, but his reputation precedes him: Rutan won the 2004 Ansari X Prize for SpaceShipOne.

That project was funded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's Mojave Aerospace Ventures; before Rutan won the X Prize, Richard Branson had already announced that SpaceShipOne would be used as the model for Virgin Galactic's commercial space flights.
