Here's a closeup of the single-seat F-117 cockpit, occupied by Air Force Capt. Christina Szasz. (Note the serrations along the edges of the canopy windows and on the fuselage at lower right.) The Air Force graduated its last class of Nighthawk pilots in October 2006, and two months later it sent a first crop of the planes into retirement. The last of the F-117 fleet will be retired in 2008. The F-117 course included 85 classroom hours, 24 simulator sessions, and 11 flights in the actual plane, and candidates had to have already flown at least one tour of duty in a different fighter jet, according to an article in the Air Force Times.
