Astronaut Scott Parazynski in the second of five planned EVA (extravehicular activity) sessions for the current space station mission. During the spacewalk, which lasted 6 hours and 33 minutes, Parazynski and fellow astronaut Daniel Tani collected samples of the metal shavings that had been observed in the rotary joint of one of the solar arrays on the station.
NASA has decided to have the astronauts attempt to repair the tear in the solar array before fixing the joint.
