Four Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines, each with 72,000 pounds of thrust, get the "Big Bertha" off the ground.

According to Airbus, the A380 sets "new environmental benchmarks in air transport [with] unmatched fuel efficiency of less than three liters (of fuel) per passenger per 100 kilometers."
