Northrop XB-35

The jet-powered YB-49 grew out of this slightly earlier design, the Northrop XB-35, whose four engines each had twin, counterrotating three-blade propellers. The first flight of this plane took place in June 1946; only two were built, and this particular design was scrapped just a few years later.
