Photos: NextFest kicks off with Google X Prize

The Wired NextFest kicked off Thursday at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa opened the two-day technology conference by urging hundreds of school kids there on field trips to embrace the future by studying math and science.
