For Boeing, the attention-getter these days is the 787 Dreamliner, the first of which is set to emerge from the factory on July 8; the plane is expected to make its entry into service in 2008. This picture from early June shows the wings in the join position.
"This is a magical time in the program," Mike Bair, general manager of Boeing's 787 program, said in a statement from the air show. "When you are building the first airplane of an all-new type, the pressure is incredible and the hours are long but accomplishments are immediately visible."
