Lost to the fire was the Castle Kashan (shown above in a Google Earth image), a fairy-tale-like structure built 30 years ago on this Malibu hill.
The castle (shown below engulfed in flames) was filled with paintings and Elvis Presley memorabilia and was one of several homes owned by socialite-philanthropist Lilly Lawrence, known as "Princess Lilly." The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home, where TV shows like The Rockford Files were shot, was listed for sale earlier this year at $17 million, according to news reports.
