Crater from the northeast

Nearly the entire Meteor Crater, as seen from the northeast. Today, the land the crater is on, and all the land for 10 miles around, is owned by one family, the Barringers--who inherited the site after Daniel Barringer staked a mining claim to it in 1903--and is managed by two others. The land grant was authorized by Barringer's friend, Teddy Roosevelt.
