Images: A lesson plan from the South Pole

Since 2003, Swan has led the Inspire Antarctica Expedition to raise awareness about the continent. This year's trip began Saturday, with a group of about 60--made up of teachers, students and representatives from corporate sponsors--gathering in Ushuaia, Argentina, said to be the southernmost city in the world. They are scheduled to sail to Antarctica on Wednesday, when Swan will open the education base. The group returns March 3.
