Sophisticated satellite weather instruments predict the path of Rita and the flooding potential. The worst flooding should come east of the eye due to the counterclockwise spin of the hurricane. This image was produced from NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and data from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM).
