U.K.-based d3o Labs has developed a sturdy yet flexible polymer-based material that can withstand a thump from a shovel to the elbow, which a woman from the company demonstrates here. The material, which looks like Silly Putty in raw form, complements a whole line of wearable items from d30, including motorcycle gloves and soccer shin guards. The company hopes to start selling it to police departments and the military.
