Although the Scooba looks taller than the counter, it managed to slip a corner under this one. At a direct hit with an obstacle, the machine turns in a circular pattern until its right or left side can get under the counter. However, when it comes in contact with an object like a foot (as opposed to a counter), it moves backward. The bumper relays to the processor what sort of object the robot ran into and the processor takes the appropriate action.
