Start-ups at the Cleantech Forum, taking place February 25-27 in San Francisco, showed off the latest ideas in green tech, including electric car rental hubs, batteries that won't explode, and drugs grown from plants.
Intrago is launching an electric-bike rental service that its founder hopes could change the way people get around in cities and college towns. Unlike the Zipcar car-sharing service, which requires every rental to be a round trip, Intrago would allow users to drop off the vehicles at any station. Between the handlebars is a thick data cable that also locks into the docking station, sending information to the company's servers. Intrago plans to unveil four stations in Seattle by September, followed by another launch at a business park in Walnut Creek, Calif.
