Photos: Solar festival as green as it gets

In addition to the dome, the Solar Living Institute features alternative structures including a tipi, a yurt, a bamboo pyramid and a tree house. The site was a dump for the California Department of Transportation until the center began restoring the land in the mid-1990s.
