Photos: Tapping the power of ocean waves

Offshore turbines can generate up to 5 megawatts each and their blades can measure more than 100 meters long. Moving them farther offshore eliminates some aesthetic issues and generates more power, but it's not easy building in deep water, and there's risk of damage to the marine environment in the process.
