Photos: A modular solar home takes root

It may not take the world by storm like the iPod, but the PowerHouse PowerPod--a different model from the company's multiunit home, could appeal to people looking for a green vacation house or home office.

Like the other PowerHouse products, the PowerPod is meant to be energy-efficient and conserve water. For example, this "solar butterfly" roof design is intended to maximize daylight while leaving room for a photovoltaic array.
