Alex Winch retired from running hedge funds and then launched into solar energy with the Beach Solar Laundromat. It gets a substantial amount of its hot water from the sun, and it's located in Toronto. It's been operating since 2002.
The success of the laundromat prompted Winch to found Mondial Energy.
