Photos: LEDs light the way in Raleigh

A parking garage in Raleigh, N.C., retrofitted with LED lights. LEDs, the city and manufacturer Cree say, provide better light as well as cutting energy consumption and maintenance. The city now wants to put LEDs in its six other municipal garages and in other public places. Picking Cree also helps the local tech economy: the company is based in nearby Durham.
