The 4-cylinder engine of the 1908 Model T produced about 20 horsepower. The car would zip along at up to 45 miles per hour, and drivers could expect 13 to 21 miles per gallon. The gas tank held 10 gallons. A complete spec sheet for the 1908 model is at the Web site of The Henry Ford. (The Henry Ford, in Dearborn, Mich., is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose operations include the Henry Ford Museum, historic Greenfield Village, and the Benson Ford Research Center.)
