Peugeot's theme this year asked people to design a vehicle that could work with "the worldwide megalopolis of tomorrow." Entrants were asked to keep in mind things like "social harmony" and "environmental awareness."

Ying Hui Choo from Singapore was certainly thinking of social harmony. His Peugeot Blade electric car, with motors at the wheels, is intended for pleasure-driving only.

Once the Internet becomes robust enough to handle the world's traffic, even in video communication, less long-distance work travel by car will be required. Bicycles will make a comeback by 2027, as the commuter vehicle of choice for local travel, and put many car manufacturers out of business, according to Choo's vision of the future.

But not Peugeot, which will survive by returning to its roots as a bicycle manufacturer, in addition to making cars, according to Choo's project statement.
