Jaguar has attempted to spiff up its X-Type with a refresh for 2008. The new model (shown here in the sedan) includes more than 500 changes.
While most of the changes seem to be cosmetic, there is one significant option being offered that some drivers may be interested in. The 2008 X-Type will offer a diesel engine with automatic transmission. The 2.2-liter diesel engine will come with a six-speed automatic transmission and Jaguar's Sequential Shift, a manual override that allows for gear changes while driving.
A diesel engine was previously offered for the X-Type, but only with a five- or six-speed manual transmission.
