The terms "Hummer" and "environmental consciousness" aren't often uttered in the same breath. But the GM Advanced Design team has dreamed up the Hummer O2, in which the fuel cell is the least radical concept. This baby breathes like a tree. Seriously. It uses algae-filled body panels that take in carbon dioxide--a leading greenhouse gas--and emit pure oxygen. (Post-consumer recycled aluminum in the frame? Ho-hum.)
Apparently, it doesn't get any greener than that--the judges named it the winner of the design challenge.
