Photos: Mobile in Mongolia

The Mongol Rally is an 8,000-mile race from London to Ulaanbaatur, the capital of a not very well-paved Mongolia. And this is no Nascar event, with finely tuned racing machines and teams of mechanics. Rather, drivers are required to use economy cars "with an engine of less than 1 liter that is generally considered to be crap," according to the event's Web site. In this photo from the 2004 race, a Mini makes a splash in some wide-open terrain.
