Photos: Cracking open a lightsaber

Inspecting the top of the handle, it becomes clear that the sturdy polycarbonate blade is firmly attached and there is no danger of it sliding out with anything but the heaviest wear and tear.

Exacting details of ILM's handiwork are duplicated down to the esoteric numbers and letters inscribed on the handle. This is also where we find the power switch and power supply--three AA batteries.
