Photos: Solar Decathlon heats up in D.C.

Caption: This is the interior of the New York Institute of Technology entry into the Solar Decathlon. The team decided to build a beach home that uses a white ceiling to maximize natural rooftop light to store heat.

Although the event did not officially open to the public until Friday afternoon, lines were already forming outside the houses Friday morning, just after the opening ceremony.
