Photos: Solar Decathlon heats up in D.C.

In addition to generating enough electricity to power the appliances in their homes, contestants need to provide enough juice to charge up these Global Electric Motorcars. The number of miles that each team can drive their cars is tallied and becomes part of its overall score.
