This photo from Kaguya, taken on February 10, 2009, captured a penumbral lunar eclipse, the moment when sunlight was covered by the Earth, which looks like a diamond ring. JAXA is requesting visual observations of the Kaguya impact from anyone planning to view the crash from an observatory with a big-enough telescope, one of at least 3.6 meters. Let JAXA know how and where you plan to watch by e-mailing the agency at sel_hp@jaxa.jp.
