Once the coal mixture has been gasified, GreatPoint Energy has created its product--methane, the primary component of natural gas. But along with the natural gas are several other minerals and gases. This building, attached to the side of the reactor tower, is for treating incoming feedstock and recycling what comes out of the reactor. The idea is to separate the catalyst so it can be reused and to clean out the many pollutants in coal.
