Photos: 'Halo 3' fans initiate play

From coast to coast on Monday, the anticipation built through the day in advance of the first midnight sales of Microsoft's Halo 3. Among the prelaunch festivities was a gathering at the company's Mountain View, Calif., campus for Silicon Valley developers, investors and "tech influencers." A Halo 3 screen saver on a computer monitor there let visitors know that the game's hour was nigh.
