Genibo version 1.3 is a robotic toy dog, created by Korean manufacturer 3C Tae Yang. Genibo has been used for the past few years as an educational robot in Montessori schools in Korea. So far, about 500 have been distributed at the equivalent of about $1,000 apiece. The dog has sensors and responds to touch--stroke its back and it lies down flat, stands up, and starts to play. He also barks and plays educational songs and can be controlled via a remote.
