Photos: The Victorian engine that could

The Difference Engine has two output options. It can actually print numerals on paper or make an impression onto plaster, therefore creating a cast to be used over and over again. The machine was sophisticated enough to be programmed with two different font sizes, various margin settings, and other formatting options.
