In the center, the electronics are stuck on the back of the headstock between the tuning pegs. It's a retrofit part that can be added after the guitar is already made. Carey says the headstock assembly is the "doer" of the setup. The electronics themselves are made by several different vendors. Rohm, Texas Instruments, NXP, Linear Technology, and Silicon Labs make the technology responsible for power conversion, data reception, data decoding, and motor drive control.
