The green technology movement isn't big in Vietnam, where you'd be hard pressed to find a Toyota Prius. City air is thick with exhaust, and it's getting thicker as more people can afford cars. The "greenest" forms of transportation are by foot, bicycle or cyclo. Many Vietnamese people pack anything they can fit--from entire families to refrigerators--on motorbikes, the most popular form of wheeled transportation. Helmet laws come into effect in December, but most helmets in stores do little to prevent head trauma in case of an accident.
