This dumpster full of CRT televisions and monitors, is a small example of the kinds of cast-offs the artists used. They were forced to run a gantlet of trash piles, bulldozers and forklifts to cull materials for their shows. Paul Fresina, director of the artist-in-residence program, said 3 million tons of electronic waste like this is processed by landfills every year in the United States.
