Boston Acoustics Recepter

Boston Acoustics Recepter

The Recepter Radio HD has a compact design with excellent sound, The New York Times found. The display is a bright backlit blue, and tuning is straightforward. (For CNET's review of the Recepter, click here.)

Its feature of having one speaker in the main unit and a second that can be placed up to two feet away does not offer sound superior to most of the other units. In testing, the Recepter performed worst in the apartment, The New York Times found. Yet it was as good as all the other receivers in the detached-home test.
