Photos: Cracking open Amazon's Kindle

With the case screws removed, you can now pop open the Kindle's case. Hold the Kindle upright (as shown in this photo), insert a thin plastic tool (or your fingernail) into the groove between the case's front and back halves, and gently push straight down. Slide the tool or your fingernail around the Kindle's case. As you move around the case, the plastic catches should pop loose. Take care not to crack the Kindle's plastic case.
