These images point out where the serial numbers are located on the batteries affected by Thursday's recall of
1.8 million batteries used in Apple Computer notebooks. Users of the affected batteries are advised to immediately remove them from their computers and contact Apple to obtain a replacement battery.
The top image shows a battery for Apple's 12-inch PowerBook model. The center image is battery for a 12-inch iBook. The bottom image shows the battery used in the 15-inch PowerBook.
The Apple notebooks affected by the recall are using the same faulty battery cells made by Sony that led Dell to initiate the largest recall in consumer electronics history last week, according to Sony.
