Photos: Arizona city goes wireless

Dave Heck, deputy IT manager for the city of Tempe, oversaw the construction of the wireless network. It has not yet met all of his expectations, such as offering indoor coverage, but he is confident it soon will.

"Being one of the first communities of this size to take on this endeavor, we learned a lesson," Heck said, "and I think others will learn lessons from us as well."
