Structurally, Change.org is similar to a Going or Upcoming events site. But instead of signing up to Feist concerts or art gallery openings, you're vocalizing your support for any number of social causes. You can then learn about how to donate or get involved, and meet up with other people who support the same ideals.

Sure, campus life is busy. But it's easy to get caught up in an "academic bubble" and forget what's going on outside the classroom and dorm room. Change.org, as well as a plethora of other nonprofit social networks out there, can present you with a number of ways to get involved, especially if on-campus volunteerism options are limited or don't fit your schedule.
